The Green Soul concept was born in 2011 out of our desire to offer a healthy alternative to traditional Soul Food. Delicious as it may be, Soul Food is not known for its health benefits!
Owning several restaurants that serve authentic Southern favorites, we wanted to stay close to our roots while offering our customers food that is good for them, and food they could feel good about eating.
We believed there was a way to use many of the traditional ingredients familiar to Soul Food enthusiasts, but that we could present them in a healthier version of everyone’s favorites. We developed recipes that incorporated the best aspects of traditional dishes that allow the natural flavors to shine through.
Wherever possible, we are using local, organic and sustainably produced ingredients. We want to support independently owned, local businesses wherever we can. We are committed to limiting the carbon footprint created by our business and have made a number of choices to meet that goal.
